2017 Celebrating Sylvia Walk
Our mother, Sylvia Mizner, was diagnosed this past January 2017 with Stage 4 Glioblastoma. She underwent surgery in February, chemotherapy and radiation in the spring, and is now finishing up a six-month course of chemotherapy. She is facing this fight with grace and a fierce determination and is doing well despite the overwhelming medical evidence. On September 23rd, we are having The Celebrate Sylvia Walk in the town where she and our father lived for over forty years, and where two of her children, all five of her grandchildren, and several of her nieces and nephews still reside. Sylvia has always been a walker: even now, she is walking daily. She has walked the Boston Marathon Route for the Jimmy Fund, participated in the Walk for Hunger and for the North Shore Cancer Walk for decades. Celebrating Sylvia is the walk she walked for years with her dearest friend, who will be joining her, along with friends and family. So please come show your support and let’s work together to raise awareness for this incurable disease and to Celebrate Sylvia! Thank you.
