Chief's Combat for a Cure
About Chief's Combat for a Cure:
On November 20, 2015 my father, Michael McDermed was diagnosed with glioblastoma. He was a firefighter for 45 years in our home town of Atchison, Ks, 35 of those years he held the position of Fire Chief. He was forced to retire early due to the disease, which in a weird way was just as big of a blow as the diagnosis.
On June 17, 2017 myself and CrossFit Independence of Orlando, FL will be hosting an event to support my father's battle, to pay tribute to his career and to help raise funds for the research to find a cure for glioblastoma. The event will consist of a series of exercises that mimic the movements of a firefighter when on the job. The movements can be modified to fit your skill set. The top three participants will be awarded a t-shirt in the size and color of your choosing, with the events logo on it.
To participate, register for the event by purchasing a ticket above. Simply select the quantity of tickets you would like to purchase, if you would like to make an additional donation, and finally click the Order Now button.
